Atomic Habits Book Cover Design

I decided to create a flat cover design and a double cut out cover version for the book Atomic Habits. The cut out cover version would be a special limited edition design of the book.

The message behind the book emphasises how small changes in life can over time lead to much bigger impacts, and allow goals and achievements within your daily routine to be reached.

To reflect the books message I decided to combine the following theories together. In order to best represent the contents of the book in a unique and intreging way.

The Domino effect- with dominos if one is knocked over it causes a chain of dominoes to fall one after the other untill all falling down. This could represent someone deciding to make changes in their life to defat bad habits. This initial change is the first domino, to which then changes continue along the way with consistency until the goal is reached.

The Butterfly Effect- there is a theory that when a butterfly flaps its wings it causes tiny atomic changes in the atmosphere that can lead to much bigger impacts elsewhere in the world. This effectively signifies the message James Clear is trying to make about how tiny changes no matter how small they may seem lead to much bigger things, whether that is positive or negative impacts.

It all begins with an idea.
