Edinburgh Zoo After Dark
The concept of my trail for Edinburgh zoo is a night themed trail. Edinburgh Zoo currently do a night trail which is open during the summer months. My trail could be available to visit throughout the year with the aims of making society aware of the devastating impacts that deforestation is having on animals within the zoo, specifically focussing on the animals within the night trail. 42 out of 88 of the worlds constellations are animals, therefore each animal within the trail will be represented through their constellation.
The outcome of the trail should cause visitors to make a change to their day to day life in order to have positive impacts on the planet and reduce the likelyhood of these animals becoming extinct. The points of interest throughout the trail will be represented through a woodland lights show to further emphasise the night theme by relating to stars and constellations. This will be visually appealing to viewers and will cause them to want to see more. The overall idea of time running low till extinction becomes a reality will be communicated through the woodland light features and should be eye opening to visitors as they progress through the trail.
